Notice of Planning extends objection date to 21st October

Notices of planning have been positioned around the village and dated 1st October.  As a result, the deadline for objections is extended to 21st October (21 days after notices posted).  So, if you haven't already, please object now.

  • 13 September 2024

Deadline for Objections to Gladman's latest proposal is 2nd October. Object now.

Last year as a community we raised over £22k to pay for a barrister to fight the planning application behind the allotments on Shenton Lane and won .
Unfortunately Gladman have put in a brand new planning application with a different entrance as they have purchased a house in York close which they are going to knock down to create access through to the site.
If you objected last year and felt strongly about this proposed development then please object again following the link .
Important please remember your objection from last time does not count!

Deadline for objecting to this application is Wednesday 2nd October.

    Neighbourhood Plan Drop in Consultation

Bosworth Vision Planning Group have a consultation at the Dixie Grammar School hall - it’s vitally important that you have your say on the proposed level of new houses which HBBC want to build in Bosworth over the next 17 years.

  • 01 August 2024

Gladman try again - leaflets in the post again

We won the appeal against Gladman for building on this site .However, once again they are trying to get planning on this site .
Whilst Gladman would like you to respond to their consultation, any responses benefit them, which is not helpful in terms of being able to object .
If you do want to object to the proposal for yet another inappropriate development in Market Bosworth then please wait until the formal planning application is made public by Hinckley and Bosworth council which will be several several weeks away .
Do not respond to this leaflet as it is not from Hinckley and Bosworth council .

    We Won!!!

Yesterday we received the fantastic news that we have won the shenton lane appeal.
A big thank you to all who contributed both financially and with their time.
It was a fantastic community achievement and shows what we can achieve in Bosworth when we all pull together.
It seems to me that the inspector has concluded that the proposed development, along with the associated required road works, would cause considerable and significant harm to the heritage assets and conservation area of Market Bosworth and the rural approach to the village, and that these issues outweigh any benefits of the development including the much needed additional and affordable housing.
Full decision is available here if you want to read the details:
Thanks again for all your support

    Appeal Update

Just a quick update. The appeal for Shenton Lane took place and was closed on Wednesday. Our parish council and the barrister that the community paid for did a great job.
A number of members of the community also spoke at the appeal. A big thank you to them. They did a fantastic job.
Now we await the results from the inspector which could take between 10 and 26 weeks .

Closing date for objections to amended plans

    THE GLADMAN FIGHT CONTINUES

Gladman have now submitted some amendments to their planning application for the 125 houses development of Shenton Lane.

These amendments are very technical and almost impossible for us to understand.

THIS IS A DELIBERATE PLOY BY GLADMAN WHO HOPE THAT THEY WILL NOT RECEIVE OBJECTIONS – SO WE MUST ALL ACT AGAIN NOW.

The deadline for objecting is FRIDAY 16TH JUNE

You can object in 2 ways:

    1. Go online to www.hinckley-bosworth.gov.uk and enter 22/00167/OUT and follow the link in the purple box
    2. Send an email to planning@hinckley-bosworth.gov.uk
You must use the reference 22/00167/OUT (Re-Consultation)

And you MUST make sure you include your Name and Address

Even if you have objected before you must do so again.

If we are going to stop this development it is vital we all send our objections in, which can only be based on concerns about traffic, speculative development, not conforming with the Neighbourhood plan, damage to the landscape etc.

    Crowd Funding Appeal Closes

Crowd funding has proved an amazing success and united the Community against the Gladman proposals.  Total raised so far is £22,800 (includes cheques, cash and bank transfers as well as the online donations.  These are still being accepted).

MBCIA set up crowd funding for legal representation

Gladman Developments is well known for its substantive investment in legal teams to fight Appeals. This is therefore a crucial time for Market Bosworth, to combat the Power of this aggressive company (now part of Barratt Homes).

To Cover the Cost of the Barrister our Community and Friends are aiming to raise £25,000 by the 22nd May to add to the funds provided by the Parish Council.

Our plan is to do this through Crowd Funding, our Fundraising page is:

    www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/market-bosworth-community

Please help us and our community fight for the survival of our rural community, valued by residents and visitors, before it is overrun by more traffic, schools constantly building into their playing fields to provide for local children, and our GP and Dental Practices are overwhelmed with demand. These will be rendered unsustainable by developers who fail to grasp the impact of their actions.

However much or little you can give will be much appre

To oppose speculative applications for housing developments in rural areas around Market Bosworth that are not in the neighbourhood plan.

Details of their Planning Application (https://pa.hinckley-bosworth.gov.uk/…/applicationDetails.do…) sent for approval.

Although Gladman have clearly been planning this for a while and whilst this matter will be decided on planning merit, submitting it now during a national health emergency means it will be more difficult for the community to engage in the planning process. We invite the people of Market Bosworth to draw their own conclusions as to whether this could be a cynical move by a company to take advantage of this situation.
